CHICAGO (CBS) — Two people were killed in a shooting in Chicago's South Shore neighborhood early Tuesday morning. Three people were shot just before 5 a.m. near 78th Street and Oglesby Avenue, according to the Chicago Fire Department. CFD confirmed two people were pronounced dead at the scene. CHICAGO (CBS)-- An attempted robbery ended in a shootout in the Edgewater neighborhood early Tuesday morning. Chicago police said a 23-year-old man walking in the 5400 block of North Winthrop around 4:20 a.m. when the attempted robber got out of a sedan and demanded his property at gunpoint. Police said that's when the victim, who has a FOID card and concealed carry license, and then the offender exchanged gunfire. The victim was not injured. The offender fled in one of two sedans parked nearby.

CHICAGO (CBS)-- Police are dealing with another rash of break-ins in the Lincoln Square, North Center, and Lakeview neighborhoods. CBS 2 news crews spotted broken glass all over the sidewalk at the Bad Apple on Lincoln and Cullom. More broken glass was found just across the street at Gannon's Pub and then again down the street at the Wild Goose. In most of the incidents, windows and doors were shattered. Cash registers were stolen or broken into at some of the targeted businesses.
