CASTRO COUNTY, Texas (KAMR/KCIT) — The Texas Department of Public Safety is investigating after a Castro County deputy and a suspect exchanged gunfire, resulting in the death of the suspect. According to a DPS press release, at the request of the Castro County Sheriff’s Office, Texas Rangers are leading the investigation into the shooting, which happened shortly after 11 a.m. on Farm-to-Market Road 1055.

AMARILLO, Texas (KAMR/KCIT) — The Amarillo Police Department reported that a man died following a single-vehicle crash Wednesday evening in the 1600 block of Kentucky Street. According to APD, at around 5:35 p.m., Amarillo Police officers responded to the scene where the driver was found unconscious inside the vehicle. He was extricated by the Amarillo Fire Department and transported to a local hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.
