    CADDO PARISH, La. (KTAL/KMSS) – A Shreveport man will spend the next three decades in prison for raping a 16-year-old girl back in 2023. According to the Caddo Parish District Attorney’s Office, Tra’tavion Jermaine Turner, 24, received the sentence on Monday after being found guilty of third-degree rape on June 11 by a Caddo Parish jury. Turner was ordered to serve the sentence at hard labor without the benefit of probation, parole, or suspension of sentence.

(KTAL/KMSS) – A Caddo Parish man was recently booked on drug and weapon charges after Caddo Sheriff’s deputies say they discovered a sauna in the man’s home, which was used for the cultivation and drying of marijuana. According to the Caddo Parish Sheriff’s office, the arrest was sparked by a phone call on Friday, June 20, by a woman reporting that her boyfriend had allegedly threatened to harm her and her family.

    SHREVEPORT-BOSSIER, La. (KTAL/KMSS) – Casinos in Shreveport-Bossier had a bounce-back month according to the Louisiana Gaming Control Board’s May revenue report. Data provided by Louisiana State Police shows that Shreveport-Bossier’s six casinos earned $52.12 million in revenue for the month. That’s up 22.5% from the $42.56 million the market earned in April. Margaritaville Resort and Casino continues to be Shreveport-Bossier’s revenue leader, reporting a profit of $13.72 million for the month.

    BATON ROUGE, La. (KTAL/KMSS) — A four-week investigation involving multiple state and federal agencies leads to ten arrests and more than $1 million worth of illegal vape products being seized. According to the Louisiana Office of Alcohol and Tobacco Control, Louisiana State Police and federal Homeland Security Investigations made the arrests. Three Shreveport-Bossier vape shops were investigated.
