KANSAS CITY, Mo. — AJ Agbebaku’s wife didn’t get very far after filling up at a Shawnee gas station back in January. Mechanics say it happens more often than some may realize. “My wife just called me, she was just stuck on Johnson and 47th Street,” he said. “A mile down the road, the car is dead,” explained Craig Stephan, the owner of CS Auto Repair. Agbebaku returned to the Johnson Drive gas station after he initially thought the issues with their SUV might’ve just been a faulty battery.

KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Missouri’s highest court on Tuesday upheld the election results of Proposition A, also known as “Prop A”. The ballot initiative increases the state’s minimum wage and requires paid sick time. Missouri’s Supreme Court upheld the initiative in a unanimous opinion, although one judge dissented on the reasoning.

KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Kansas City’s medical director is calling for tougher laws to keep health professionals safe. Dr. Erica Carney, who is also Missouri’s EMS medical director, says attacks like it on health professionals are all too common. “I have been in inner-city emergency medicine and EMS for close to 20 years now and our safety is always a question whenever we go to work unfortunately,” Carney, a University Health ER doctor said.
