A particularly stealthy cat burglar has been on the prowl in his Norfolk neighbourhood stealing food. The thief in question, however, is an actual moggie called Disco - a 10-year-old half ragdoll breed who lives with his owner Kat Steele in Hellesdon, on the edge of Norwich. Ms Steele, 42, came across a stash of cat food pouches while gardening earlier this week and shared the discovery with a local Facebook group.

"There was a real energy for the pub to be reopening," said Mr Pearcey, who also owns businesses nearby including the Oaklands Hotel and Salhouse Farm Shop and Cafe. "I love pubs and what was nice was that we had some people in from Rackheath who might have been a bit funny about all the new housing previously, but when they joined up and were in the beer garden they got talking.

David Freezer - BBC News, NorfolkAugust 14, 2024 at 1:42 AM·3 min readThe approaching arrival of a new McDonald's next to a city's prized nature reserve has sparked a plea for the area and its wildlife to be protected from litter. People in Sprowston found out in May the fast-food chain would build a drive-through restaurant on Mousehold Lane, near Mousehold Heath, after the Planning Inspectorate overturned Norwich City Council's refusal of plans.

RT @BBCLookEast: New Universal theme park confirmed for UK https://t.co/FhAKp6g6dQ

There’s bad cocktail names and then there’s this from The Catherine Wheel pub in Norwich… 🤦♂️ Thankfully they’ve realised their mistake and apologised - after being pulled up on it by social media users. Story from @Neve_GF https://t.co/JgLeFlYISJ

I said “typical Norwich City” to the wife, a second before @CGoreham said exactly the same on Radio Norfolk. Good that #NCFC won’t make the play-offs as would have ended in agony, clearly not good enough. Another season of naivety & inconsistency cannot hide behind transition.
