BROMHEAD — A southeast Saskatchewan producer believes a recent vandalism incident caused $10,000-$15,000 in damage. Curtis Forrester said the incident occurred June 19 or 20 at his property just west of the hamlet of Bromhead. He had been working on his sprayer until 8 p.m. on the 19th, and when he returned at about 10 a.m. on the 20th to finish his work, he saw the damage. SOUTHEAST SASKATCHEWAN – Update: Several communities in southeast Saskatchewan have been blasted by powerful storms on June 19. A tornado warning was issued during the late afternoon in multiple RMs, including Browning, Coalfields, Enniskillen and Mount Pleasant. Brandon Copic captured this footage from the Frobisher area. A tornado watch that was in effect for the RM of Estevan and others has been lifted. It remains for some east-central and southeast municipalities.

ESTEVAN — One of the four people charged in connection with a drug bust in Estevan in August 2024 has pleaded guilty to two of the charges he was facing. Brennan Stephen McKeen pleaded guilty to one count each of possession for the purpose of trafficking cocaine and methamphetamine. Other charges were stayed, including trafficking in cocaine and methamphetamine, possession of property obtained by crime exceeding $5,000, and violating the terms of his release order.

ESTEVAN — The Estevan Police Service has seen an increase in the number of assaults in the community. The EPS was called to 21 assaults in May, up from eight for the same month a year earlier, according to information released at the June 10 meeting of the Estevan board of police commissioners. Other incidents categorized as crimes against the person included five assaults causing bodily harm, up from two the previous year, one sexual crime and a murder.
