    SPEARFISH — For the second time in less than a week, the Spearfish High School baseball team defeated Sturgis Brown 8-2 Sunday in Spearfish. The two teams met on May 5 with Spearfish winning 10-4. Sturgis Brown protested because there was only one umpire for the game.     LINCOLN, Neb. — The Black Hills State University (BHSU) women’s rodeo team got their groove back at just the right time winning their sixth rodeo crown of the season at the Cornhusker College Rodeo Saturday in Lincoln, Neb. The Lady Jackets have now won back-to-back Great Plains Region titles, and their 12th region title overall. They have finished the season atop the regional standings in 10 of the last 14 seasons.

    SPEARFISH — Despite the rain, Spearfish defeated Sturgis Brown in high school baseball action Monday in Spearfish. “Yeah it was a good win. We had to battle through conditions all day. Not knowing if we’re playing, not knowing if it’s gonna rain, but we came out, and we got the job done,” said Parker Louks, the Spartans’ head coach. “We made a couple of base running errors early, but now they know not to make that mistake twice, because I was not very happy with it.
