The Black Hills Pioneer, initially known as the Black Hills Weekly Pioneer, is a newspaper based in Spearfish, South Dakota. It was established by A. W. Merrick and W. A. Laughlin and holds the distinction of being the first newspaper in Deadwood during the time of Dakota Territory.
