TACOMA, Wash. - The Gonzaga Prep Bullpups survived a scare in the 4A state basketball tournament Thursday, outlasting Auburn, 53-50 in overtime to advance to the semifinals. The top-seeded Bullpups (24-2) will play third-seeded Glacier Peak Friday at 3:45 p.m.Junior Carter Nilson paced Gonzaga Prep with 15 points, while Brogan Howell had 14 and Jackson Mott added 13 and a team-high 10 rebounds. Trojans guard Daniel Johnson led all scorers with 26 points.
WSU extends contracts for Riley, Ethridge through 2030-31 season

PULLMAN, Wash. - Washington State University announced it has extended the contracts of both men's basketball coach David Riley and women's basketball coach Kamie Ethridge through the 2030-31 season. Riley, who agreed to a six-year contract when he took at the job at WSU, is in his first season as the head coach of the Cougars. He's led them to an 18-13 regular season record, despite an array of injuries to key players.
