The city has completed two neighborhood plans that share goals and recommendations for those areas over the next 10 years. The East Central Forward and Northwest 2035 neighborhood plans will be considered by the Fort Wayne Plan Commission and City Council through May. They will eventually be adopted as part of the All in Allen Comprehensive Plan, which serves as a blueprint for future development.

A local developer has proposed nearly 100 villas off Getz Road in southwest Fort Wayne. ForeSight Consulting LLC has filed an application with the Department of Planning Services, seeking approval of its primary development plan for 13½ acres on Constitution Drive. The property owner and developer is listed as Getz Road Land LLC, which has a Carmel address.

A Fort Wayne man’s outfit and shell casings tied him to a shooting that killed one and critically injured another, according to court documents obtained Wednesday. Shontrel J. Bright, 33, was charged with murder and attempted murder after a shooting Sunday in the 1900 block of Hobson Road.

Investigators have identified the man they believe murdered a 26-year-old woman whose body was found in Allen County more than 50 years ago, Indiana State Police said Wednesday. However, the suspect died about 13 years after the fatal shooting. Phyllis Bailer and her 3-year-old daughter left Indianapolis about 8 p.m., July 7, 1972, and they traveled using a borrowed car to visit Bailer’s parents in Bluffton. Her family filed a report when Bailer and her daughter never arrived, a news release said.

The Public Arts Commission is starting to work with more neighborhoods to develop their own Shout-Out: Fort Wayne art projects. The next series was shared as part of the commission’s presentation to Fort Wayne City Council members Tuesday. The Shout-Out initiative is “designed to empower neighborhoods and develop their unique identities through public art,” according to the city’s website. Shout-Out works with areas engaged with Fort Wayne's Fort-ify Neighborhood Accelerator program.
