The organizers of the Elizabethtown Christmas Parade are asking “What does Christmas in Elizabethtown” mean to you? What are your finest memories? What images come to mind? The Annual Parade is scheduled for Sunday, Dec. 1, starting at Town Hall at 4 p.m. The Christmas Tree Lighting on the Bladen County Courthouse lawn will immediately follow the Parade. A new community focused space will soon be joining downtown Fayetteville. Fayetteville based Marked Church has announced the recent acquisition of a three-story 37,388 square-foot property located at 508 Person St.Built in 1966, the property features three floors and eight bathrooms. It stands on a lot that spans 2.12 acres and was previously owned by Beasley Media Group. Marked leadership closed on the sale of the building on Friday, Oct. 4.

Harnett County is ready to welcome the public to celebrate the Harnett Regional Jetport (HRJ) Terminal. Originally scheduled as a ribbon cutting and jamboree to celebrate the grand opening of the Harnett Regional Jetport Terminal, the event originally planned for earlier this year on May 18 had to be canceled and rescheduled due to inclement weather. HRJ celebrated their grand opening in a smaller ceremony in mid July of 2024 (read about that here).

The Internal Revenue Service announced today that the amount individuals can contribute to their 401(k) plans in 2025 has increased to $23,500, up from $23,000 for 2024. The IRS today also issued technical guidance regarding all cost‑of‑living adjustments affecting dollar limitations for pension plans and other retirement-related items for tax year 2025 in Notice 2024-80, posted today on IRS.gov.
