The event, organised by the Reading Agency, is being held in the run up to World Book Night on Wednesday, April 23, when 1,000 Quick Read books will be handed out for free. The read-in will take place on Wednesday at 11.30am at Waterstones in the Wool Exchange building.

2 1/1 IT was on April 20, 1820 that the Bronte family left their home in Thornton for a new life in Haworth. Six horse-drawn carts, piled high with furniture and other belongings, took the Reverend Patrick Bronte, his wife Maria and their six children, accompanied by two maids, on the eight mile journey over moorland roads. This weekend - exactly 205 years later - the Brontes’ poignant journey will be re-enacted.
