4 1/1 FILMING is underway on the sixth series of hit Channel 5 drama All Creatures Great and Small. Photographer MARK DAVIS, a member of the Telegraph & Argus Camera Club, was in Grassington - which has been transformed into fictional town Darrowby - to capture these lovely photos of the set. Based on Alf Wight's series of James Herriot books about the life of a country vet, the much-loved drama has introduced the stories to a whole new generation.

Ahead of the 80th anniversary of VE Day tomorrow, here are some T&A readers’ memories of that historic occasion. For one day only, the austerity of war life was put to one side. Flags went up, there was music in the streets and party food was laid out on tables in the streets. For Rosalie Harris, it was the night the grown-ups danced the conga. Aged five, she was hoisted onto her father’s shoulders, surrounded by cheering crowds, as Victory celebrations went on into the night.
