MARINETTE — Amid discussions within Marinette County about what to do with the now vacated University of Wisconsin-Green Bay, Marinette Campus, well-known history professor Dan Kallgren, Ph.D., prepares to retire on May 25 after over 30 years of teaching at the campus. Kallgren was an exceptional educator who knew how to captivate his students. He could be seen galloping down the hallway a time or two, re-enacting a historical scene. MARINETTE — The Marinette Common Council unanimously approved an offer from the Menominee Fire Department to purchase the Marinette Fire Department’s old Engine 101 for $39,000 on Monday. Marinette’s old reserve engine is nearing 30 years, the benchmark for fire apparatus service life set by the National Fire Protection Agency. It was used as the city’s reserve engine, but decommissioned when the Marinette Fire Department received its new 2024 Saber Rescue Pumper last month. kAmx?
