UNIVERSITY PLACE, Wash. — Ten years of tasting and celebrating Northwest beer and cider returns Saturday, Aug. 12 with Tacoma Arts Live’s Brew Five Three. More than 40 breweries will be in the central meadow of Chambers Bay. Tacoma Arts Live said this event will be "bigger and better than ever" as part of the new Sound & Sky event - making it a three-day weekend of festivities. Brew Three Five is a 21 and over event with a valid ID required to enter. It's also a dog-friendly event.

All 20 films and shorts are northwest premieres or have recently distinguished themselves on the festival circuit. Nahar, a rising senior at Eastside Preparatory School in Kirkland, started a fundraising campaign with Pencils of Promise about three years ago. SEATTLE — A new mental health recommendation may prompt more adults to get screened for anxiety. The U.S. Preventive Services Task Force (USPSTF) commissioned a systematic review to evaluate the benefits and harms of screening for anxiety disorders in asymptomatic adults. The USPSTF is independent of the federal government. It makes evidence-based recommendations about preventive services such as screenings, behavioral counseling, and preventive medications.
Seattle's Museum of Flight invites community to paint its new mural

SEATTLE — If you want to help paint a giant mural in Seattle, the Museum of Flight wants your help. On Saturday, July 22, a gray exterior of the Archives building that is seen as you walk up to the museum, will be painted. The 18-foot by 125-foot wall will feature an original design by artist Esmerelda Vasquez. Her design is inspired by the museum’s collection and the concept of flight. The mural will be outlined in paint-by-numbers style so participants will be able to easily fill in the colors.
