Solenis in Low Moor (Image: Google Street View) A BRADFORD business will test its off-site emergency siren this week. Solenis in Low Moor will test the siren at 10am and 8pm on Thursday, June 5. It is being carried out as part of the company’s obligations under the Control of Major Accident Hazards Regulations 2015. A spokesperson for Solenis said of the testing: "The siren, which produces a sound of increasing and decreasing pitch, will operate for one minute on each occasion.

The work, in the Lower Wyke area of Bradford, entered its second phase today. Yorkshire Water said the mains are being replaced to improve the reliability of the drinking water supply, reduce leakage, and prevent water main bursts in the area. The work is part of the water firm's £406m investment to replace more than 1,000km of water mains across the region over the next five years.

Asad Mahmood (Image: West Yorkshire Police) POLICE are appealing for information to trace Asad Mahmood who has been reported missing. Asad, who is 31, and from Shipley, was last seen in Shipley on Tuesday morning. He is described as being about 5ft 7ins tall and was last seen wearing a green jacket/body warmer, a black The North Face hooded top, grey joggers, and white trainers. Officers are making enquiries to locate Asad as there are serious concerns for his welfare.

Emergency services at scene of serious collision on the M62 THERE has been a serious collision on the M62 this evening. West Yorkshire Police said it happened near Junction 24, Ainley Top. The eastbound carriageway, from Junction 22 to 24 has been closed as a result and emergency services are at the scene. "The road is likely to remain closed for the rest of tonight," said police. "Motorists are advised to avoid the area."
