The child was located around 5:30 p.m. in the area of Margo and Thames, according to the Beaumont Police Department. Despite efforts to identify him, no calls have been received regarding a missing child matching his description. “We have received no calls on a missing child and we are trying to find his family,” police said in a statement.

    BEAUMONT, Texas — Beaumont police are asking for the public’s help in identifying the driver involved in a hit-and-run crash that killed a 72-year-old bicyclist last week. Cuong Van Tran, a Beaumont resident, was hit by a dark-colored sedan while riding his bicycle southbound on Avenue C around 5:52 p.m. on May 24, according to police. The vehicle left the scene after the collision, and continued southbound.

    BEAUMONT, Texas — Two men who robbed a convenience store in Beaumont and fatally shot the clerk have been sentenced to more than 30 years in federal prison. Keandre Marquis Robinson, 20, of Beaumont, and Larry Nathaniel Hagan, 28, of Houston, each pleaded guilty to possessing and discharging a firearm in furtherance of a crime of violence resulting in death. Robinson was sentenced to over 33 years, and Hagan received 35 months in prison by U.S. District Judge Marcia Crone on May 30, 2025.

    AUSTIN, Texas — Texas shrimpers are celebrating a legislative victory after two bills aimed at curbing the misleading labeling and market dominance of imported shrimp cleared both chambers at the state Capitol. Senate Bill 823 is now headed to Governor Greg Abbott’s desk. If signed into law, it would prohibit restaurants from labeling shrimp as “Texas” or “Gulf” shrimp if the seafood is actually imported.

    BEAUMONT, Texas — A new telehealth program launched in Beaumont is already transforming how paramedics handle non-emergency calls, offering faster care for patients and helping to reduce overcrowding in emergency rooms. The program, called RightSite, went live last week and has already been used 24 times by emergency crews. Instead of transporting patients to busy ERs, paramedics are now connecting them to doctors via video right from the scene.
