    CHARLESTON, W.Va. (WCHS) — The American Heart Association held it’s annual Heart Walk in Charleston Saturday morning to raise money for heart health. Dozens of people showed up with laced sneakers, ready to walk the GoMart Ball Park to raise money for the non-profit. The goal of the event was to bring awareness to heart health while raising funds to help those in the mountain state. "My heart condition kept me from living a very normal childhood,” David Humphreys, event attendee, said.

    PUTNAM COUNTY, W.Va. (WCHS) — Meet 9-year-old Bri Barger. She has a big love for animals, and decided she wanted to help shelter animals any way she could. "Even when you're sad, they're, they're someone to listen to you, someone to cuddle with when you don't feel the best they're just always here for you,” she said. Three years ago, Barger came up with the idea of setting up a lemonade stand where all of the profits would be used to purchase donations for the Putnam County Animal Shelter.

    Madison Middle School defensive lineman Cohen Craddock was hospitalized after making a tackle.The eighth grader would have turned 14 Monday. "Cohen was great. He had a lot of personality. He loved to joke, loved to have fun and loved going to church," Ryan Craddock said of his son. "His big heart, him coming up to you giving you a big bear hug, and telling you he loved you."Craddock said what looked like a routine play led to the teen's hospitalization.
