Mateo Kipke came into his own as a junior last season and will now enter his senior year as a future Division I athlete. The Dexter 6-foot-5 defensive lineman announced on social media Tuesday afternoon his commitment to play for Toledo. Kipke, a 3-star recruit, had a strong junior season in 2024 as he recorded 32 tackles and three sacks which helped him earn first-team Ann Arbor Dream Team and first-team all-conference honors. Toledo was the first program to offer Kipke in May of 2024.

Saline wasted no time asserting its dominance — and barely needed half the game to seal the deal. The Hornets rolled past Grosse Pointe South, 8-0, in Tuesday’s Division 1 girls soccer regional semifinal, earning a spot in Thursday’s regional championship. Saline overwhelmed GPS from the opening whistle, charging into halftime with a commanding 7-0 lead. Makena Means scored her third goal of the night just three minutes into the second half, sealing the mercy-rule victory.

Another Southeastern Conference baseball season has been capped by the announcement of the All-SEC baseball teams. The top performers from each division in the SEC were recognized for their play during the 2025 regular season with first team, honorable mention and Coach of the Year honorees. Saline and Dexter led the way in the SEC-Red with four first-team selections, while division champion Ann Arbor Skyline has two first-teamers.

It was another impressive season in the circle for Southeastern Conference softball teams. The SEC’s top softball players didn’t let many opportunities slip away as they produced consistently each week of the 2025 regular season. And this week, the best players from the league received recognition for their play with all-conference honors. Saline went undefeated in conference play to win the SEC-Red and had five players earn first-team honors.
