The Yobe State Ministry of Basic and Secondary Education has announced the closure of all public and private schools across the state for 10 days to enable the students celebrate the Eid-el-Kabir festival. In a statement signed by the Director of Schools Management, Bukar Modu, on behalf of the Commissioner for Education in Damaturu, the Sallah break will commence from Wednesday, June 4, 2025 to Sunday, June 15, 2025.

The state project coordinator of the Agro-Climatic Resilience in Semi-Arid Landscapes (ACReSAL) project in Yobe State, Shehu Alhaji Mohammed, has led a team on an inspection tour of the ongoing 8.9-kilometre Damaturu Gully Erosion Flood Control Project. During the inspection visit, he said that the project is concurrently being implemented in Damaturu and Buniyadi, Gujba local government area.

Operatives of Yobe State Police Command, in collaboration with local hunters, have arrested two suspects in connection with the abduction of a 22-year-old victim at Tashan Randa Village in the Fika area of the state.
