As thE Muslim Ummah begin the holy month of Ramadan, Oyo State governor, Seyi Makinde and his counterparts in Ekiti and Osun states, Biodun Oyebanji and Ademola Adeleke respectively have charged them to rededicate themselves to Allah and use the month to pray more for the country. The governors who gave the charge following the sighting of the crescent moon, which signifies the commencement of Ramadan yesterday, felicitated the Muslim Ummah on witnessing another Ramadan.

An unidentified motorcyclist popularly known as okada rider has reportedly died when an overspeeding black Mercedes saloon car rammed into a pharmaceutical store in Ibadan, Oyo State capital. The accident occurred around 2 pm on Saturday at Osuntokun Junction, opposite Zenith Bank at Bodija area of Ibadan. The pharmacy which the car rammed into was destroyed while two other customers’ vehicles parked in front of it were also damaged.

The Speaker of Oyo State House of Assembly, Adebo Ogundoyin and Senator representing Oyo South District in the National Assembly, Sharafadeen Alli have expressed condolences to Governor Seyi Makinde over the demise of his elder brother, Engineer Sunday Makinde. In a condolence message, Ogundoyin described late Makinde’s death as a great loss, not only to the Makinde family but also to the people of Oyo State.

Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde has assured that his administration will continue to build the right partnerships to bring about the desired development to the state. Makinde stated this during the official launch of the first phase of the telecommunications and digitalisation partnership between Globacom Limited and Oyo State Road Traffic Management Authority (OYRTMA) in Ibadan.
