GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KKCO) - Bunker Bound Golf was founded by Kaleb Fennell. The non-profit was started to give community and faith-based fellowship through golf. Fennell suffered a heart attack and was declared clinically dead for 15 minutes. He survived the ordeal but sustained an anoxic brain injury and spent five months without the ability to walk or talk.

OURAY, Colo. (KKCO) - On August 14, 2024, Ouray County officials declared an emergency disaster at a special meeting. The declaration was due to heavy rain showers causing extensive damage to roadways and infrastructure throughout Ouray County. We spoke with Ouray County officials, and they said they have not seen this level of flooding and debris flow in decades. They believe some areas will continue to see dangerous natural disruptions.

GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KKCO) - HomewardBound recently updated the community on the progress of the Unhoused Resource Center. The Resource Center has around 16 months left on planned operations and wanted to ask HomewardBound officials if they had any plans for the future of the center. Officials at HomewardBound tell us there is no concrete plan—yet. At the moment, they are working to define what a Resource Center 2.0 project looks like.

GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KKCO) - Colorado does not have many regulations for the funeral home industry. You may not know it, but Colorado was one of the few states without requirements for who could become a funeral director. Before recent legislation, the last time the state had laws like these was back in 1983—over 40 years ago. Those regulations were lost after the state legislature did not renew legislation.

GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KKCO) - Home Style Bakery prides itself on being one of the last true bakeries in Colorado. They began baking operations in 1948. At the time, it was located on North Avenue, but 24 years later, it moved to where it currently sits on 7th Street. Ownership of the business changed hands in 1976 and has remained there since. For the current owners, it was a life-long dream to own and run a bakery.

These mosquitoes are black and have white markings on their legs. They are low-flyers and do not fly far. They are daytime bitters and very aggressive. According to the C.D.C., this mosquito species has been known to spread dengue, West Nile, Zika, and other viruses.
