Sandy Morrell lives in Alma and will be running in the Boston Marathon on Monday morning. “I've been running for 12 years," Morrell said. “It's just what I do, I don't know what I would do without it, honestly.” After years of trying to qualify, Morrell achieved her goal, with a qualifying time of three hours and 40 minutes.“I cried one mile from the finish line, because I knew at that point I was getting in," Morrell said.

Storms that hit Northwest Arkansas and the River Valley early Saturday morning led to outages across the area. According to OG&E Community Affairs Manager Eddie Lee Herndon, straight line winds led to 1500 OG&E customers losing power. Crews have been working throughout the day, and that number is down to 348. Rob Roedel with the Electric Co-Op of Arkansas says they have about 700 outages. Two thirds of the outages are in Crawford and Johnson counties.

Saturday marked the 250th anniversary of the Battle of Lexington and Concord, a pivotal moment in our country's history that would mark the start of the Revolutionary War. Every year the towns of Lexington and Concord honor the anniversary with reenactments, parades and other programming throughout the weekend. Thousands make the trip to be a part of the fanfare. Both organizers and attendees noticed a much bigger turnout this year for the 250th anniversary.

State Rep. Randall Hall has pled not guilty to several election forgery charges against him, during his arraignment on Thursday. Hall has been indicted on 10 counts of aggravated forgery, as well as one count each of unsworn falsification and criminal violation of the Maine Clean Election.The Republican from Wilton is accused of forging signatures on clean election documents in 2024, and knowingly submitting those documents to qualify as a clean election candidate in Maine.
