YUMA, Ariz. (KYMA, KECY) - One of the suspects involved in an armed robbery attempt accepted a plea deal in court Tuesday. 19-year-old Ricardo Miguel Carrasco faced six charges, including aggravated robbery and kidnapping. He, along with another suspect, robbed a married couple at gunpoint last March. Carrasco pled guilty to one count of attempted first-degree robbery, a Class 3 felony. He will be formally sentenced on May 13.

(CNN, KYMA/KECY) - The Trump administration has now canceled the visas of at least 529 students, faculty and researchers across 88 colleges and universities, according to a data review by CNN. Early high-profile student deportation cases in February and March saw the government cancel the visas of students tied to pro-Palestine protests and detain them.

(CNN, KYMA/KECY) – Negotiations are ongoing between a Yuma man and the state over a shooting that happened last August. 18-year-old Keith Simmons appeared out of custody in court. Simmons is being charged with four felony counts including two aggravated assault charges. He is accused of shooting a 19-year-old man in a desert area around South Avenue 8 and a half E. Both Simmons and the victim's family continue to try resolving this matter out of court. His next appearance will be on May 16th.

(CNN, KYMA/KECY) – The wife of Weezer bassist Scott Shriner has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder after she was shot by LAPD. Police say that the incident happened as officers were trying to track down a suspect of an unrelated hit and run at a home in East Los Angeles. That's when Julia Shriner was seen in front of her yard allegedly armed with a gun. Police say that after repeated orders to drop the gun, Shriner allegedly pointed the weapon at officers.
