    Northville edged Utica Eisenhower at the Division 1 girls tennis state championship on Saturday, May 31, for the school's first title since 2018. Northville finished with 23 team points, just ahead of Eisenhower with 22, Novi with 19 and Rochester Adams with 18. Sophomores Sravya Doppalapudi and Francine Ong won the No. 3 doubles championship 6-2, 7-5 and only dropped one set throughout the championship bracket.

    GRAND RAPIDS — The record for the fastest time in the MHSAA boys 110m hurdles event was broken for the first time in 43 years at the Division 1 track and field state championship meet on Friday, May 31. In fact, two hurdlers from the same team broke the record. Belleville senior Will Jaiden Smith and junior Schmar Gamble smashed the state record in the 110m hurdles while running side-by-side in the state championship meet at East Kentwood High School.
