Melanie Quire looks directly out at you. Melanie’s self-portrait is one of 13 artworks from students at Roycemore School that are now on the windows of the former Affordable Portables furniture store on Davis Street at Maple Avenue. The idea, says Andy Vick, executive director of the Downtown Evanston marketing group, is to “make a really important corner downtown as attractive as possible” while the site is “in transition” to whatever/whenever something fills the spot.
