    Twenty Northwestern University football players have been named members of the National Football Foundation’s (NFF) Honor Society. Only the University of Kansas, with 22 honorees, saw more players chosen in the Football Bowl Subdivision (formerly known as Division I in the NCAA). Including smaller schools, 774 colleges and universities have football programs, according to the NFF. This year, 2,534 players from 339 of those schools qualified for membership.

Superintendent Angel Turner will hold a couple of “community coffee chats,” where residents can suggest their most important criteria for deciding which, if any, D65 schools will close. It’s also possible to propose ways District 65 can save money, or raise revenue.

    “A Tariff Meltdown for Chocolate Makers.”That’s the title of an editorial in Wednesday’s Wall Street Journal. The paper goes on to say that President Donald Trump’s tariffs on chocolate-exporting nations, mostly in Africa, will lead to higher costs. Chocolate makers would have to eat those expenses before their customers could eat the chocolate, or else pass along the tariff-generated cost increases to consumers, which could impact sales.

    It almost sounded like a segment from the famous Broadway play “Hamilton.”A Northwestern theater professor led about 150 other faculty members in his rap arrangement of the preamble to the U.S. Constitution, as the demonstrators rallied in front of the NU administration building Thursday, against the policies of President Donald Trump. While the rap was fun, and entertaining, it was part of an incredibly serious message.
