    A Birmingham fire station was damaged by gunfire early Thursday morning. The Birmingham Fire Department says there were no injuries, but station 23 did receive some damage in the shooting, which happened just after midnight. The Birmingham Police Department says officers heard gunshots while patrolling the 4000 block of 40th Place North. They also learned a man had arrived at the Circle K on Tallapoosa Street suffering from a gunshot wound.
