The death of a 57-year-old woman is being treated as suspicious after West Kelowna RCMP discovered her body inside a home while attending a wellness check. West Kelowna RCMP were called to a residence off Highway 97 on May 3, to check in on the well-being of an individual. According to S/Sgt. Jason Smart of the Southeast District Major Crime Unit, officers discovered a deceased woman upon entering the home. The woman is being identified as 57-year-old Cindy Walsh.

Brothers Wilbur and Templeton are in search of a new home. The cats were actually born in Vernon under a boat and rescued by the Okanagan Humane Society. For the last two years, they have been living with a foster family, but unfortunately, circumstances changed and the cats were unable to stay in the home. Now, OHS is once again caring for these two bonded felines. Turning two this summer, these brothers are looking to go to the same home that will be able to care for them.

A wildfire is being reported south of Nakusp near East Arrow Park, off Highway 6, on Friday afternoon. According to BC Wildfire, the blaze was discovered before 3 p.m. on May 2. The wildfire is an estimated .009 hectares in size and is in the Southeast Fire Centre. The cause of the blaze is under investigation. More to come.
