    A motorcyclist was killed in a crash on Westside Road Tuesday afternoon. The Vernon North Okanagan RCMP received a report of a two-vehicle collision in the 11000 block of Westside Road around 3:45 p.m. May 13. Police officers, ambulances and the local fire department responded. An investigation determined the  motorcycle was travelling north when it entered a speed wobble and crossed the centre line, colliding head-on with a pickup truck.

    Update: 10:40 a.m. May 13 A Vernon man suffered life-threatening injuries in a motorcycle crash on Highway 97 at the north end of Vernon on Friday. Officers from the Vernon North Okanagan RCMP responded to the single-vehicle crash around 5:45 p.m. May 9. Media relations officer Cpl. Tania Finn said the motorcycle was travelling southbound on Highway 97 when it went off the road and down an embankment before hitting a tree.

    UPDATE: 3:30 p.m. May 12 The Bruhn Bridge will remain closed through the night as a blockade continues at the Highway 1 construction site. The bridge was scheduled to be closed from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Monday, May 12, for the ongoing construction project. However, as of 3 p.m. a Splatsin blockade that began at 10 a.m. that morning was still in place, continuing to block both ends of the bridge.
