Sebastian White is a founder of "A Seat at the Table," which has organized farmers markets at Chicago Jesuit Academy on the West Side and Ray Elementary School on the South Side. White says the markets feature items that students helped grow or make, while teaching them important lessons. White says proceeds from the farmers markets help schools create and maintain gardens.

A bar crawl is giving people a chance to learn about the history of a neighborhood on Chicago's Northwest Side in a different way. A group called Logan Square Preservation has created what it calls a "pastport."From June 1st to July 6th, people are encouraged to visit 8 historic taverns at their own pace and get their "pastports" stamped at each one. A major medical provider is expanding services on Chicago's South Side. Advocate Health Care has announced plans to add an immediate care center to a clinic on 95th Street near Cottage Grove Avenue. The new facility is expected to handle 14,000 appointments a year. Advocate claims the $10 million care center is part of a larger $1 billion investment to offer more medical services and reduce wait times on the city's South Side.

Federal prosecutors accuse a southwest suburban businessman of swindling investors. Investigators say 41-year-old Awad Odeh of Palos Hills ran what he claimed was a precious metals refining business in Bridgeview. Prosecutors say Odeh cheated investors out of at least $3.6 million in part by falsely claiming they would receive yearly returns on their investments from 10 to 50 percent. Investigators say Odeh used false documents to make it appear his company was financially sound.
