Penn State had already bolstered its receivers room before Trebor Pena entered the transfer portal but James Franklin and the coaching staff wanted more. When a team loses a College Football Playoff semifinal by three points and no receiver catching a pass on the game is a big reason why, yeah, that team is going to want more. It’s easy to see why, for Penn State, more ended up being spelled Trebor.

UNIVERSITY PARK– Penn State coach James Franklin provided positive injury updates on a trio of wounded Lions. Penn State fans received a negative injury update earlier in the day when Lions247 first reported that promising second-year defensive end Max Granville was out with a “long-term injury.”The news surrounding right tackle Anthony Donkoh, tight end Andrew Rappleyea and linebacker Tony Rojas was much more positive.

University Park— Penn State coach James Franklin doesn’t meet with media often between spring and fall camp, nor do his assistant coaches. That’s why, when it happens, it’s a big deal, and it happened June 5 inside the Lasch Building. Penn State coach James Franklin addressed reporters for roughly 25 minutes. After that, NSN chatted with offensive coordinator Andy Kotelnicki, defensive coordinator Jim Knowles, receivers coach Marques Hagans and QB coach Danny O’Brien. See it all right here.

We now know when Penn State football’s top priority recruit of the 2026 cycle will commit. Wednesday night, Joey O’Brien announced that he’ll be committing June 20. Almost that time! https://t.co/oxrQT9MHmJ— Joey O’Brien (@Joey_obrien6) June 5, 2025This is a big deal. It’s not that Penn State needs O’Brien to have a successful ‘26 class. Penn State’s Class ranks No. 4 in the country per 247Sports, and if that holds, it will be the highest-ranked class in school history. But boy, would O’Brien help.

Penn State has added a 6-foot-3, 305-pound boss to its 2026 recruiting class. Tuesday afternoon, Penn State got a commitment from Bejmanin Eziuka, a three-star from Detroit Catholic Central. Eziuka has his official visit to Penn State scheduled for June 20-22. Penn State had been after Eziuka for almost a year, offering him late last July. He also had offers from schools such as Cincinnati, Kentucky, Stanford, Wake Forest and West Virginia.
