The Wofford baseball team was locked in a pitchers’ duel early at UNCG Baseball Stadium Sunday afternoon, but the UNCG Spartans broke through with four runs scattered over the fifth, sixth, and seventh innings to secure a 4-1 victory. The Terriers drop to 22-15 (2-7 SoCon) with the result as the Spartans improve to 17-18 (7-2 SoCon). Wofford used three total pitchers with Kenny Michaels (3-2) making the start but suffering a tough-luck loss. He tossed 5.0 innings, his longest outing as a starter.

Emma Sellers was perfect on the night going 3-for-3 to lead the Gamecocks. The top of Carolina’s lineup (Quincee Lilio, Karley Shelton, and Rodi) finished with six hits and four RBIs.The Razorbacks jumped out to an early lead with three runs in the first and another in the second.

Game one was a 9-2 result with the second an 11-1 affair in seven innings. The Terriers are now 22-14 (2-6 SoCon) as the Spartans improve to 16-18 (6-2 SoCon). Game OneCullen Condon (1-2) suffered the loss as the starter for Wofford, giving up eight runs total with only three earned.

Senior Alex Brown recorded her 200th career hit, and senior Maddie Moore set the Clemson career stolen base record with 47 as the No. 24/21 Clemson Tigers defeated NC State, 8-7, to secure the series win. With the win, Clemson improved to 33-11 overall and 13-4 ACC, while NC State dropped to 21-21 (4-13 ACC). Brown led the program with three hits to bring her career total to 202. She also finished with a team-high three runs.

Dalton Mashore cut the Aggie lead in half with his second home run of the season in the third.Carolina put up a seven-spot in the fifth. South Carolina set for national championship matchup against UConn

The game is a rematch of their regular season meeting and of the 2022 NCAA National Championship game.
