    The Wofford baseball team claimed an early lead Friday evening at Thomas Stadium over the ETSU Buccaneers and rode a strong start from Alec Bouchard and strong finish by Carter Rasmussen to a 7-5 triumph. The Terriers move to 29-22 (6-10 SoCon) as the Bucs drop to 35-13 (11-5 SoCon). Three pitchers toed the rubber for Wofford as Alec Bouchard (3-1) earned the victory as the starter. He hurled a career-long 6.0 innings with four runs allowed on seven hits and four walks with four punchouts.

    A fourth-quarter hat trick from graduate scoring leader Lindsey Marshall helped No. 14/12 Clemson Lacrosse (14-6) turn a 7-5 deficit into a 11-8 victory over No. 16/15 Navy Midshipmen (15-6) in the First Round of the NCAA Tournament at Dorrance Field. The win was Clemson’s first NCAA Tournament win in program history.

    The University of South Carolina baseball team fell in both ends of a doubleheader to No. 8 Auburn Friday (May 9) at Plainsman Park. The Gamecocks lost game one, 11-10, on a walk-off squeeze bunt and lost 11-3 in the second game. In game one, Auburn jumped out to a 2-0 lead on Eric Guevara’s fifth home run of the season. Beau Hollins answered with a solo home run in the top of the second.

    An eight-run sixth inning through the pouring rain propelled the two-seeded Clemson Tigers (43-12) over the three-seeded Virginia Tech Hokies (41-11), 10-9, on Friday afternoon to secure Clemson’s third ACC Championship berth in program history. Six different Tigers registered an RBI with Julia Knowler and Marian Collins each recording two. The win tied the largest comeback victory in program history and was the 10th-straight win away from home this season.

    Returning to the field at the PC Softball Complex for the 2025 Big South Softball Championships, No. 3 seed USC Upstate Softball battled with No. 4 seed Winthrop University in a 2024 Conference Championship rematch with the Spartans rallying past the Eagles for a 5-4 win. Winthrop opened the scoring column with a lead off walk and stealing second to drive in a run to lead 1-0. The Spartans responded in the bottom of the inning with Denver Lauer making her way to first with a walk.
