Since the vendor fair is taking place over two days, each vendor on Bliss Salon & Spa’s property along Highway 18 would have to pay a $100 license fee, which Van Meeteren said some of the vendors might not make $100 in the two days.

REGIONAL—State Sen. Jeff Taylor (R-Sioux Center) wasn’t surprised Gov. Kim Reynolds vetoed House File 639. He was just disappointed. “That was a bill that received a constitutional majority in both chambers of the general assembly before it was sent to her. It earned the support of 70 percent of Republican legislators under the golden dome,” Taylor Said. “It was in perfect alignment with our party platform and the wishes of most grass-roots Republicans in Iowa.

N'West Iowa state Sens. Jeff Taylor and Lynn Evans have been vocal against allowing eminent domain. Will be interesting to see what they have to say. Sen. Pat Grassley is working to convene a special session.

IOWA PIPE DREAM - Iowa Gov. Kim Reynolds just vetoed a bill regulating the use of eminent domain for carbon dioxide capture pipelines. That's another dead end for landowners who for 4 years have sought stronger protections against projects like Summit Carbon Solutions' project. https://t.co/Po2PDkOJDk
