The air conditioning at Weiss Memorial Hospital in Uptown went out Monday as temperatures started to spike in the city. As of Tuesday evening, 60 patients at the hospital, owned by Resilience Healthcare, were moved to the company’s other hospital, West Suburban Medical Center in Oak Park, a spokesperson for Weiss said. The hospital’s out-patient areas aren’t impacted and remain open.

Hundreds of people marched Thursday evening through downtown Chicago as part of continuing nationwide demonstrations against President Donald Trump’s crackdown on immigration. Demonstrators rallied around 4 p.m. at Congress Plaza near Michigan Avenue and Ida B. Wells Drive before marching to Trump Tower, 401 N. Wabash Ave., about a mile north, chanting, “Whose country? Our country!” and “Donald Trump, you’re a clown.

The American Medical Association is calling for an investigation into Secretary of Health and Human Services Robert F. Kennedy Jr.’s decision to upend a major vaccine advisory committee at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. In an emergency resolution, the AMA, based in Chicago, asked the Senate Committee on Health, Education, Labor and Pensions to investigate Kennedy’s move on Monday to remove all 17 members of the Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices.
