The U.S. Army Corp of Engineers Savannah District has announced that it has completed final inspections of three new hydrographic survey vessels  at the Fowl River Marina in Theodore, Alabama, and one of those will be named in honor of Staff Sgt. Dustin Wright of Toombs County who died on October 4, 2019, in combat while serving with the United States Army Special Forces in Niger, Africa.

A Vidalia woman has been arrested and charged with cruelty to children in the 2nd degree after her four-year-old child ingested and overdosed on THC gummies. Vidalia police say that on April 11, at approximately 3:15, officers responded to Memorial Health Meadows Hospital regarding a child who had overdosed. The four-year-old was transported to Memorial Health Children’s Hospital in Savannah and is expected to make a full recovery.
