    The Emanuel County Sheriff’s Office is performing an investigation after a call to which they were dispatched Thursday appears to be fraud. According to the Sheriff’s Office, around 6:37 Thursday morning deputies responded to Wilson Road and GA 92 Spur in Twin City where they found a vehicle riddled with bullet holes with bullet casings surrounding the automobile. Investigators determined that the scene was staged, and that the vehicle was unoccupied at the time the shots were fired.

    Ms. Suzanne “Suzie” Sasser Brannon, age 66, of Dublin, died Sunday, May 4, 2025, at Fairview Park Hospital in Dublin, after an extended illness. She was a native of Saint Augustine and lived most of life in Florida before moving to Georgia in 1989. Suzie was a bookkeeper for various companies and attended Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Dublin. She loved crafts, was an exceptional writer, and her grandchildren were the light of her life.

    A Lyons man was quickly apprehended Monday afternoon after he allegedly attempted to kidnap Kamryn Lynn as she and her brother Kelton were playing outside.     Mr. Michael Irvin “Mike” Shephard, age 73, of Vidalia, died Saturday, April 26, 2025, at Memorial Health Meadows Hospital in Vidalia following an extended illness. He was a native of Glynn County, growing up in Brunswick and was a 1969 graduate of Glynn Academy. He was a Marine veteran of Vietnam. He was a truck driver and worked with Best Line, Jerry Lynn Trucking, and Herndon Farms. He was a member of Cornerstone Church in Kibbee, and he enjoyed people and talking.
