MOULTRIE — A little over two years after given seven different charges in regards to the death of two individuals and an unborn child, El’Driquez Silas Jr. is now out on bail. It was on March 17, 2022 when 50-year-old Charles Butt and 18-year-old Ja’Mya McIntosh, who was pregnant at the time of her murder, were found shot to death inside their residence at the Arts Center Apartments.

Nineteen months after she was charged in the shooting death of Jason Chad McCollum, Katelyn Ireland was a free woman. Judge Brian McDaniel issued his ruling about her immunity on Thursday, and the District Attorney’s Office dropped the charges on Friday.

MOULTRIE — Three men were arrested Sunday morning in connection with a burglary at the former Riverside Manufacturing plant, thanks to trail cameras that had been placed on the property. The men — ages 28, 36 and 45 — were apprehended within about 30 minutes of the crime being reported, authorities said. Both the Colquitt County Sheriff’s Office and Moultrie Police assisted in the arrest.
