ELMIRA, N.Y. (WETM) – An Elmira man has been sentenced to decades in state prison for the June 2024 shooting on Grove Street that resulted in the death of 21-year-old Zachary VanHorn. Marcus A. Jones-Snyder was sentenced on Friday, May 9, in Chemung County Court to 20 years in state prison plus two and a half years post-release supervision for the crime of manslaughter in the first degree (class B felony), as stated in a release from the Chemung County District Attorney’s Office.

BRADFORD COUNTY, Pa. (WETM) – A Towanda man has been sentenced to serve time in a correctional facility after officials say he sold meth to undercover officers in Bradford County. Jake R. Nichols, 32, was sentenced to a minimum of 133 days to a maximum of two years in the Bradford County Correctional Facility, along with a $1,000 fine plus additional costs, for the crime of possession with intent to deliver meth, as stated in a release from the Bradford County District Attorney’s Office.
