Never before have I heard a term that captures a feeling better than “hangxiety.” We often think about the physical symptoms of a hangover due to alcohol but leave out the uneasy emotions that can occur after a night of drinking. When I heard of hangxiety for the first time, I felt reassured that it wasn’t just me who felt this type of anxiety due to alcohol.

James Lindsay, author of “Cynical Theories,” staunchly defended his assertion that “queer theory is the doctrine of a religious cult” at Turning Point’s event in Alumni Hall on Feb. 20. The event was met with a protest outside of the building organized by Trans Action Building. The protesters, who were brought together by Trans Action Building, dressed as clowns and chanted, “Who are the real clowns?” at Turning Point members as they entered the event.

When we first think of women in the history of alcohol, it is normal to associate them with the Prohibition era of 1920-33. This is an important historic event for the women who struggled with domestic violence at home and came together to find a solution. With this in mind, it’s crucial to recognizing the women who contributed to the large alcohol industry the world has today, which is, to no one’s surprise, largely dominated by men.

If there was any game that Pitt men’s basketball (17-8, ACC 8-6) could not lose in order to stay in contention of earning an at-large bid to the NCAA Tournament, it was Saturday Night’s game against Louisville (8-18, ACC 3-12). But senior forward Blake Hinson made sure the Panthers would not falter, as he led the Panthers in an 86-59 victory. Hinson scored 41 points on Saturday night, shooting 14-24 from the field and 9-13 from three-point range.
