ENTERPRISE, Ala. (WTVY) - In 1998 a woman in New Orleans, Louisiana felt moved to give back and lend a helping hand to those in need. Just a few years later she was forced to evacuate due to the wrath of hurricane Katrina. Harolyn Benjamin didn’t let that catastrophic event stop her. She packed up her bags and family to move to Southeast Alabama. Through the tough times, her mission remained strong: to be a woman who cares.

(WTVY) - News4 is back in Kathy’s Southern Kitchen for a new installment of “Cooking with Kinsley.” Kinsley Centers takes a trip to Kathy’s home to learn how to cook the perfect cast iron ribeye steaks ahead of Father’s Day. Shelby Easterling, the president of the Alabama CattleWomen’s Association, helped Kathy and Kinsley get dinner ready.

DOTHAN, Ala. (WTVY) - Hand Up Enterprise has given folks a hand over a hard time since 2016. This nonprofit assists people who fall through the cracks. Many of them are those who are homeless, our veteran, and those working people who just need a boost. “You can organize some things, but you can’t organize when someone is going to call you and say, ‘I’m hungry,’” Cathy Burnett, the president of Hand Up Enterprise, said. This group of volunteers stays ready for those calls.

DOTHAN, Ala. (WTVY) - The rain didn’t stop a crowd from raising money for a good cause at the Azalea Swim and Tennis Club on Thursday night. Folks filled the tennis and pickleball courts to raise money for the Southeast Alabama Community Foundation (SACF). SACF held its inaugural Spring Swing Pickleball and Tennis Social Fundraiser in conjunction with its annual grants presentation. $46,000 went to 16 area nonprofits tonight.
