DETROIT (AP) — Lucas Raymond and Marco Kasper scored, Cam Talbot stopped 21 shots and the Detroit Red Wings beat the Boston Bruins 2-1 on Saturday night. Detroit, clinging to flickering playoff hopes, won for just the fourth time in 15 games. The Red Wings are tied with the New York Islanders — one point behind Montreal, Columbus and the New York Rangers, who are tied for the second wild card in the Eastern Conference.

EAST LANSING, Mich. (AP) — Michigan State has joined some rare air in college basketball history over the last half-century with coaching longevity and NCAA titles. Since 1976, the Spartans have had just two coaches and both won a national championship. Hall of Famer Tom Izzo cut down the nets in 2000 and Jud Heathcote won it all in 1979.
