The great-grandmother gives the big man in red a run for his money.

(WIAT) — Black Friday is coming up fast, and shoppers are already taking advantage of some early deals at the Shops of Grand River. “I want to buy as much as I can get,” joked shopper Paige McCann. The shops are anticipated to get tens of thousands of customers in what a store representative said is predicted to be a “very strong” Black Friday. “I’m hoping Uggs are on sale. I need Uggs,” said McCann’s best friend and fellow shopper Izzy Rhyne.

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (WIAT) — A mysterious and potentially deadly illness is spreading in dogs across the country. According to local veterinarians, it’s only a matter of time before cases pop up in Alabama. “I am very nervous that when this hits Alabama what it’s going to do,” said Dr. Nicole Martin, a veterinarian with Caldwell Mill Animal Clinic. Martin said she hasn’t heard of any cases of the unknown illness in Alabama, that veterinarians know of, yet.
