Philadelphia Mayor Cherelle Parker signed a bill regulating trucks and vehicles that largely provide services to people experiencing homelessness and substance abuse issues in Kensington on Wednesday. The bill, which was drafted by Kensington's City Councilmember Quetcy Lozada, will require permits for mobile service vehicles and limit where they can operate in the neighborhood, the mayor's office said.

Philadelphia District Attorney Larry Krasner easily won the Democratic primary in his reelection bid Tuesday night, but it came with the lowest voter turnout Philadelphia has seen in recent years. And that has at least one watchdog worried that voter apathy is settling into the city's electorate. Around 16% of voters in the city participated in Tuesday's election, which is lower than the number of those who participated in the primary elections for district attorney four years ago.

In a moment that might have been tense, except for the surrounding circumstances, Philadelphia City Council President Kenyatta Johnson pulled out a gun in City Hall on Tuesday. However, the gun was fake. Though, with it, Johnson said he wanted to prove a point. "In Point Breeze, South Philadelphia, about two weeks ago, we had an officer related shooting with a young man who had a phony gun," he told NBC10's Lauren Mayk.
