MADISON, Wis. (WMTV) - Mrs. Renee Moldenhauer’s teaching career started in 1983, when she taught life skills to adults with intellectual and physical challenges. She left to raise her family, but she missed the classroom. In 2001 she returned to teaching and took a position teaching special education at Lodi High School in 2014.

Peggy Maurer is the second Crystal Apple Award recipient of 2025, and received nine different nominations. Maurer teaches STEAM- which is an acronym for Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Mathematics- and she is a K-12 library media specialist. For 35 years, Maurer has been a pillar of the Poynette School District.
