Christopher Shawn Rush, 50, who is charged with employment or use of a minor to produce obscene matter or assist in doing sexually explicit conduct, will continue to be held on a $100,000 cash-only bond. Justin Collin, Rush's defense attorney, argued that Rush was charged with crimes that don't fit the evidence. Collin said he thought two misdemeanor counts of child erotica would be more appropriate based on what he's viewed in a photo and a video from Rush's phone.

CHARLESTON, W.Va. (WCHS) — A long-time law enforcement officer who was arrested by the FBI last month has been federally indicted on four counts of child pornography related crimes. Kenneth McCord, 55, was indicted Tuesday by a federal grand jury in Charleston. He was initially charged with receipt and attempted receipt of child pornography.

Vanessa Beauvais, 36, of South Charleston was arrested last week and charged with two counts of distributing and displaying obscene matter to a minor and two counts of employment or use of a minor to produce obscene matter or assist in doing sexually explicit conduct. During a preliminary hearing Monday in Kanawha County Magistrate Court, Magistrate Lisa Good heard testimony from Senior Trooper J.M. Massile who explained how the investigation started in early February.

CLAY COUNTY, W.Va. (WCHS) — Troopers in Clay County have arrested a second person in connection to the case of an infant who was allegedly abused and strangled by her biological father. Jerri Ferrebee, 36, of Clay is charged with child neglect resulting in injury and failure to report. Jerri Ferrebee, 36, of Clay is arraigned in magistrate court by Clay County Magistrate Scott Bass.
