Officials in the community of Gary, Indiana have unveiled a vision for a revitalized downtown as part of a partnership with Notre Dame’s School of Architecture. Gary Mayor Eddie Melton unveiled the dramatic plan in a press conference on Tuesday. “We’re very intentional to make sure everyone feels the growth and potential,” he said. The blueprint is a multi-phase approach to revitalizing neighborhoods and the community’s historic downtown, with faculty at Notre Dame playing a key role in the plan.

The father of an American woman killed as she and her boyfriend left an event at the Capital Jewish Museum in Washington D.C. Wednesday night spoke to NBC News just hours after learning of his daughter's tragic death. Robert Milgrim described his daughter as one who loved all aspects of life. Even after 27 years, Lee Crooks still finds it surreal he is heard on every Chicago Transit Authority bus and train speaker in the city. "That's the part I am unable to wrap my head around," Crooks said. "I hope to be doing it until my voice gives out."Crooks got the gig back in 1998, toward the beginning of his voiceover career. "One day my agent called me up and said, 'Hey, the CTA wants someone for prerecorded announcements.' I said – yeah!"Crooks sent his audition tape and hoped for the best.
