MODOC COUNTY, Calif. - A huge annual gathering in Modoc County brought out a large segment of the community to feast on pancakes and sausages on Saturday morning. The gathering is organized by the Modoc County Sheriff's Office, along with other law enforcement partners and Java Doc. Each year, MCSO provides pancakes and sausages free of charge to all Little League players and their families.

PARADISE LAKE, Calif. - A prescribed burn will take place at Paradise Lake near Magalia in Butte County on Monday, and smoke from the burn will likely be seen from Magalia, Paradise, Chico and the Sacramento Valley. Short duration, minor smoke impacts are expected in Paradise Lake and nearby neighborhoods in Magalia, as well as Skyway, Lucretia Rd., Coutolenc Rd. and along neighboring forest roads. The specific burn area encompasses 41 acres in the Lucretia Rd. area.

CHICO, Calif. - A mountain biker riding in Upper Bidwell Park on Friday evening ended up crashing down a ravine and was rescued by Chico Fire Department personnel. The mountain biker sustained injuries in the crash down the ravine. Due to the treacherous terrain and difficult access, figefighters responded in UTV5, an off-road vehicle. The members of the Chico Fire Technnical Rescue Team constructed a small raising system to extricate the biker from the ravine.

The money is used to support the Modoc Little League, and the breakfast was held on their opening day. Support was provided by many law enforcement agencies and Java Doc.
