The principal at Woodlands Academy said she is ‘thrilled’ with the results of a recent Ofsted inspection in which the the school achieved a 'Good' rating across all aspects. This achievement is a testament to the hard work and dedication of everyone involved, including staff, pupils, and parents. The school, which provides education for pupils with special educational needs and disabilities from ages 2 to 16, has made significant progress since its previous 'Requires Improvement' rating in 2020.

Tom Davenport moved to the Scarborough 20 years ago and has been a popular performer in the town since that time. His close friend, Jim Taylor, director of the Headland Festival and fellow musician, spoke about Mr Davenport and what he meant to the people of Scarborough. Stephen Short was born in Hull, but moved to Scarborough at the age of 10, where he spend the rest of his formative years. He met wife to be Kathy at a nightclub in the town in 1967 and the couple married in April 1971. Mr Short became an estate agent at just 17 years old and worked in the profession for more than half a century, retiring at the age of 70 in 2018. "He absolutely loved it, it was in his blood,” said daughter Nicki Bishop. "He was a true gentleman.

Staff members from Scarborough Hospital have celebrated the diversity of their multinational workforce at the hospital’s Cultural Awareness Day 2023. Dozens of staff members and their families gathered at North Bay chalets for a beach party, which included performances from British, Indian, African and Filipino employees. A range of food from aross the cultures was also shared and there was music, games, food and dancing.

Ashley, 36, did not attend work this morning, and officers are very concerned for his welfare. He was last spoken to by a family member at about 5am this morning. He is believed to be Scarborough. He is described as white, slim build, 5ft 10ins, clean shaven and with short brown hair. Officers from North Yorkshire Police are searching for him to ensure he is safe and well.
