Community answers to those and other questions will help form a brand for the city as well as a new logo. In short, the city is looking for input on how to best express its identity.

MUSKEGON, MI – Five historic monuments that include nine bronze statues in Muskegon’s downtown Hackley Park are about to get a facelift. The monuments include statues of President Abraham Lincoln and President Ulysses S. Grant as well as a 76-foot-tall tribute to “Soldiers and Sailors.”Also included in the cleaning, repairing and waxing work are statues of President William McKinley and Civil War General Philip Kearny.

MUSKEGON, MI – New playground structures have been selected for four Muskegon parks, including one adjacent to Pere Marquette beach. The new structures were chosen with citizen input for Sheldon Park, McCrea Park and Margaret Drake Elliott Park, which is next to the Muskegon Channel. A new structure also is being installed at St. Joseph’s Park near downtown. If you purchase a product or register for an account through a link on our site, we may receive compensation.

GRAND HAVEN, MI – The officer in charge of the U.S. Coast Guard station in Grand Haven has been fired due to “a loss of confidence in his judgment,” according to a press release. Master Chief Petty Officer Marc Moore also was “permanently relieved of his duties” because of his inability to “fulfill his assigned duties,” according to the press release sent by the U.S. Coast Guard’s Ninth District on Friday, April 5. Further details were not provided.
