ROCK ISLAND Co., Ill. (KWQC) - The former Rock Island County employee who officials say stole $900,000 over 21 years made her initial court appearance Friday. During the court appearance, the presiding judge ordered Leisa Streeter, 62, to be released on home confinement with GPS monitoring. The state argued, since there’s money that is still unaccounted for and Streeter travels regularly, she could flee. The defense argued, she has been cooperative with the investigation.

(KWQC) - United Township High School hosted a career fair Wednesday for students to explore career options. “This is special, and it’s special because of you guys,” said James Davis, College & Career Advisor at United Township High School. “What you do for these kids to prepare them for the future it’s amazing. And that’s the word I want everybody to leave with. Amazing.” Local businesses from around the Quad Cities came to the event to share what goes into their career fields.

ROCK ISLAND Co., Ill. (KWQC) - Charges were dismissed against a man in connection with an East Moline shooting death after authorities uncovered new evidence, Rock Island County State’s Attorney Dora A. Villarreal says. Villarreal filed the motion on Thursday to dismiss the first-degree murder charge against Jarquez D. Robertson, 22, of Huntsville, Alabama, because detectives said he had acted in self-defense.

Fans will also say goodbye to one of the program’s most impactful senior classes. The celebration for the team begins at 6 p.m. in Iowa City at Carver Hawkeye Arena. The team made two straight trips to the national title game, three straight BIG Ten tournament titles, and sold-out arenas nationwide.
