The investigation into the Mesa park rangers deepened as an additional ranger was put on leave “pending findings by the Mesa Police Department,” meaning nearly half the team has been caught up in the "Goon Squad" scandal and two have left their jobs. A spokesperson with the city told The Arizona Republic on May 21 that a second ranger had resigned earlier that week. That follows the resignation of Joshua Amado on April 28, hours before he faced a termination hearing.
