Higginbotham, who enjoyed a successful spell with Irvinestown Wanderers — guiding them back to Division One — finished the season alongside Ryan Campbell at Kesh, helping steer the club to the Mulhern Cup final. He now returns to Rangers, where he previously played and coached, this time in charge.

By Annie FlynnOUTRAGE has sparked across social media recently at the increase of parking charges in Enniskillen with prices jumping over 275-per-cent from £1.20 to £4.50 per day. On March 4, Fermanagh and Omagh District Council agreed to increase the cost of parking at the Quay Lane South and Shore Road West car parks in Enniskillen and New Brighton Terrace car park in Omagh. The prices which initially were 40p every three hours have increased to 40p per hour.

A FERMANAGH priest has revealed he heard what what is believed to have been the last Confession of one of the Disappeared, but stressed he did not know the man would be killed. Joe Lynskey, a former Cistercian monk, was one of a group of 17 people who were abducted, murdered and secretly buried by the IRA during the Troubles. To date, only four of ‘the Disappeared’ bodies have been found.
End of an era for Fermanagh post office

THE Post Office has said it’s “not looking to replace” the Teemore Road facility after the popular shop closed its doors for the last time in another major blow to the local and rural community. Tourism development planned for Fermanagh village

PLANNING permission has been lodged for a major new tourism development in Belleek, close to the heart of the village. The application of is for 30 holiday accommodation units on a greenfield site off Old Station Road, and also includes a new marina, parking and landscaping. Of these planned units, 12 will be two storey, semi-detatched self-catering holiday homes, and 18 will be self-catering holiday apartments. The new jetty will, appropriately enough, be located west of Marina Road.
